My bit of Austen

I also just found out which Austen heroine I would be:

I am Elinor Dashwood!

Take the Quiz here!

Here's the description: You are Elinor Dashwood of Sense & Sensibility! You are practical, circumspect, and discreet. Though you are tremendously sensible and allow your head to rule, you have a deep, emotional side that few people often see. (How accurate do you think that is?)

(Many thanks to Heidi for including this on her blog!)

Of all Jane Austen's characters, I probably identify most with Elinor. I'd say the description of her fits me pretty well, too. Perhaps that's why you and I get along so well. :)

It also explains why I married Mr. E. Ferrars instead of Mr. Darcy.

I think Elinor fits you pretty well, Beth. Especially the deep, emotional side which few people ever see--maybe that's why we all love reading your blog. It gives us glimpses into what's going on in that side of you. And if you're Elinor, that means you'll also end up with one of Austen's most charming leading men! (sometimes I think I even like Edward better than Darcy.)
My test results said I'm Elizabeth Bennet. Honestly, I think they just said I'm her because they didn't know where else to put me. My answers were all over the place. But I won't complain. Much better Lizzy than Catherine Morland (um, no offense if anyone gets matched with her).

You know, I've realized since taking this quiz that I really do find Edward much more appealing than Darcy. So odd. I've always pictured Darcy as the ideal, but I don't think I'd really enjoy being in a relationship with him.

Hm. Now I've just got to find me an Edward of my own.

Now that you mention it, I feel the same way. I've always admired Darcy (at least the kinder, gentler, end-of-the-book version), but I don't think I'd be very comfortable in a relationship with him. Edward is much more my speed.
