The For Real Deal

Okay, folks.

I just want to get this right out of the way:

It's my birthday today! For real this time!

So, for all of you who have already wished me a happy birthday on my pre-birthday-celebration post, thank you.

For all of those who have not done so, you have until the end of today.

That is all.

(Ohyeah. And extra points if you know what the title of this post is from.)

Happy for real wishes! Please have a lovely day!
No idea where that quote comes from, but I will guess either something Jane Austin or a Disney cartoon...am I close? LOL!

Happy Birthday, Bethy Loo! (I sang an entire song for you already, so go check the family blog! You certainly wouldn't want to miss my melodious moment, trust me!) Love and miss you!

Becky

P.S. I'm baffled by the title. Do tell!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

As for the title, I think it's on HomestarRunnner...but you may be thinking of something else. I never thought of you as a strongbad type of person...

Umm...I think there's also a wrestler called the Real Deal, but I never thought of you as a wrestling type either...

Mayhaps I'm just clueless of the title...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BETH! *attempts to sing but becomes clawed by cats, howled by dogs, and showered upon by shattered glass* I think the real deal is the real deal that you are the real deal and there is nothing or no one as real cool and deals fairly as you!

Actually, our friend the Elvish Pirate Gypsy got it right. It is in fact a quote from a Homestarrunner cartoon, the "Strong Bad is a Bad Guy" short. (I, in truth, really am a Strong Bad type of person. Much to my chagrin. I blame the corrupting influence of my friends. ;))

And thanks for the well-wishes! :)

Beth, I thougt you were still at home in Utah and I called to wish you a Happy Birthday, and found out your in Boston! I guess now it's Happy Belated Birthday since it's midnight there! I'm sorry! Still Happy Birthday, though. This is the first time I've even been on a blog sight and I hope I'm doing this right. But I love ya' and I'm not one of the friends you're talking about (me a corrupting influence--NEVER!) :)
Love, Kellie Staheli Robison

Happy Birthday. Today is my baby's three month mark. So, for a year, the 24th will always seem like a mini holiday.

I like your book choices. I think Robin McKinley is fabulous. Have you read any of her other books?

And who doesn't like homestar runner?

My dear, I did not get to post on the Big Day, because, once again, our computer and the internet were not on speaking terms. Also, Dad and I were busy buying, unbuying and buying two separate houses. But since we spoke several times by phone, I know that you know that I love you, and was happy to be involved (!) in the event 29 years ago that we were all celebrating. You were a cute newborn, tiny at 5lbs 12 oz, with wispy reddish hair, and looking just a little bit annoyed by the whole experience. Keep enjoying Burt and his many bees. Love, Mama

Holy--Kellie! Ohmygracious! I'm such a bad person--I kept meaning to tell you I'd moved to Boston and I kept forgetting to do so. :/ So sorry! But thanks so much for wishing me a happy birthday! :)

And thanks, STM! The 24th always seems like a mini holiday to me too. I keep thinking, "Ah! Only __ months until my birthday!" And I've read pretty much anything by Robin McKinley I can get my hands on. :) My favorite of hers is The Blue Sword, but I pretty much adore all of her other novels as well and am really looking forward to her new release. :)

And Mom, no worries. I spoke with you extensively on day of (and since) which definitely counts. Good luck with all that house purchasing! :)

Sorry for the belated birthday wishes. I just got back in town, so I missed the well-wishing window.

Important things always seem to happen in your life when I'm away from the computer for several days. Maybe I should do that more often. :)
