Tagorium: Or, What I've Been Reading Lately

Okay. So, as you may have noticed if you've ever tagged me, it takes me forever to get to said tags on my own blog.

For that, I apologize profusely.

So, in an effort to alter my ways, I'm responding to Becca's tag. (Thanks, Becca!)

1. Pick up the nearest book (at least 123 pages)
2. Turn to page 123
3. Find the 5th sentence
4. Post the 5th sentence on your blog
5. Tag 5 people

The nearest book is, I kid you not, Introduction to Cataloging and Classification (10th ed.), by Arlene G. Taylor. Which is a shame, because I've been reading all these juicy YA books lately.

The 5th sentence on the 123rd page reads: "Playing times are given, as in the rule for sound recordings." Uh. That's pretty boring. Basically, it's talking about what kind of information you need to include when you're creating a catalog record for different types of items, in this case a DVD (aka in the library world as 'videodisc'). So, you'd include information about playing time when you create your catalog record.

Yearp.

Now, I tag (if you have time, but ONLY if you have time): Kim, Nerd Goddess, Pat, Becky, and Mom.

So...this is totally random but I just wanted to tell you:

I gave my artsy fartsy film-studies-lovin' sister "The Fountain" for her birthday. She called me yesterday practically gushing her love for it out of the cell-phone mouthpiece.

that is all.

Since my blog has died of neglect I will just answer my tag here.

"if she had been friends with Colin she would have run to show him her presents at once, and they would have looked at the pictures and read some of the gardening books and perhaps tired playing the games, and he would have enjoyed himself so much he would never once have thought he was going to die or have put his hand on his spine to see if there was a lump coming."

The Secret Garden. Every spring. Because it makes me very, very happy to read The Secret Garden in the spring.

Oh, and BTW, in my opinion there has never yet been a stage or film adaptation of this miraculous book that has really captured the magic and joy and wonder within the pages. Proof yet again that the book is always better.
